Being a Warriors Fan...

It's been a trial of late as any one of them will tell you. Now don't get me wrong, we're used to the emotional rollercoaster that is part and parcel of being one of the Six ways faithful but after 8 straight losses it was getting hard to keep that faith. This makes the win against Saracens on 26th Nov such a relief!
Many of us knew they had it in them, it was just frustrating waiting for them to show the rest of league that. The boys still have a long way to go and there are 13 games left in the league so fingers crossed and a great deal of shouting should get them (and us) through.

The game against Newport Gwent Dragons was quite competitive seeming it was a 'dead rubber' as far as the EDF Energy Cup was concerned, but both teams seemed to be well up for the game. Bit worried we picked up some injuries, especially to our current talismanic player, Gavin Quinnell. The next couple of games are in the European Challenge Cup and I am in 2 minds whether what sort of team club should put out, in that we need to keep winning to bolster moral but we also need to protect players so we have them for the far more important Premiership games on 22nd Dec against London Irish, 27th against Harlequins and 1st Jan away to Northampton Saints.

The Academy boys have been playing very well against much older and more experienced teams, capped off by a great win at Leicester Tigers against their development team on Monday 27th Nov. Only the second time the development team had been beaten at home in 4 years.. The boys were unable to follow that up last night at home to the Newcastle Falcons Development team, who had so much more experience in the forwards the Wuss boys.

Now I have a bit of a rep for being a tad loud in my support of the Warriors, so much so that I do warn folks around me that they might get a shock when I start to shout for the boys. It's really quite funny at home matches, we can instantly spot the people who haven't sat near our season ticket seats before. When I unleash a 'Come on Warriors' for the first time they all jump and look round to see where the noise has come from!! I suppose there are worse things to have a reputation for...!

I am just a rugby glutton, I love the game and watch as much as I can get away with, be that on the telly or freezing my assets off at a ground. Not fussed if it's 15's or 7's either form of the game is great to watch. Now the Beeb have the IRB 7's highlights and actually have coverage live on interactive add to that Marcel Garvey of the Warriors is playing for England and I have yet another reason not to do the ironing.

Now if anybody has any ideas how I can blag two inclusive trips to Albi or Viadana (or both)……..
