Meet the players’ night…and Albi..

Wednesday 6th Dec… Well this was a bit of a cross over with Rosa’s blog in that the evening was organised like a speed dating session. It was quite challenging for several fans to talk to 5 Warriors at a time in 10 minutes or so. Very confusing!!! Still the boys seemed to be happy with the format, they got to meet loads more fans and didn’t get collared all evening by the same 1 or 2 supporters. It also meant that they couldn’t form clumps in the corners either. So a result all round.

There was nice mix of first team and academy players which lent it’s self to more varied questioning. One player, who was knocked unconscious recently, was relating the story happily at the beginning of the evening but probably was telling the short version later on.

There a few of the players out with various injuries and illness too so the next 2 games against Albi, home and away, will test squad strength significantly. The lads in the academy will no doubt be getting some 1st team game time.

I get the impression players like the European games, perhaps it’s less pressured than the league and they can relax a bit. Playing in France and Italy gives them a chance to see what clubs there are like and compare facilities. Also a change is as good as a rest they say.

The team did well against Albi a clean sheet is a hard thing to achieve and particularly with our record this season. This goes to show, how well things are picking up. I am not able to go to the Albi away game but there are some stalwarts of the Sixways faithful going to cheer the guys to another victory…..

My next game will be London Irish at Sixways on 22nd December… I love Friday night games the atmosphere is brilliant. Never mind the cold, get all wrapped upand cheer my head off to keep warm and I might have a couple of ciders to keep the cockles glowing too…

Have a good Christmas, mine will be made by a 2 or 3 wins for the Warriors….Not much to ask for….. is it?????
