Now i wouldnt say i was the world's biggest fan of Jeremy Beadle, but we see again that the image portrayed by the media of a 'celebrity', a man who was ridiculed and harrassed for tacky
programming and tricking of innocent members of the public, - is a false one. Many of his fellow celebrities have come out in support and even the once cruel media who slated him in the late 80's and
early 90's have passed kind comment on his passing last week.
Apparently he was known for his sense of humour ( i worked that one out) and willingness to help others. It turns out that his lasting legacy shouldnt be anything connected to his tv work but to the
fund raising and charity work he did out of the public eye. Apparently he raised over 100 million pounds for lukiemia charities and other smaller worthy causes.
I never met him, but one of my friend's met him several times, he always attended the national clown convention in littlehampton every year. And her opinion of him was much the same as that of his
friends and fellow tv celebs who have all said what a gentleman he was. I guess you shouldnt believe everything you read in papers about people - remember they are in the business of selling tabloid
papers not telling things just how they are.
