BEEN doing a bit of what my gran used to call ‘gadding about’ of late. I never did find out what gadding was or is.

Anyway the new Bond film was in my diary last week and it was a very glitzy charity preview at the Odeon. I must say it is not the best Bond film but then some colleagues thought it was very good.

Sunday was the rugby and it was not great but at least the speakers are working at Sixways.

On Monday I went to Buddy the musical at Malvern Theatres and I have to recommend this one to you.

It is a cracking show. I saw it in Birmingham about six years ago and this production is top drawer.

Went on a train this week, which is not something I do very often but I do enjoy the odd train trip if only for the fact you can look in everyone’s back garden as you chug along.

It was the Worcester Male Voice Choir Annual Concert as well. In fact it was the 21st annual in the cathedral, which was packed out. I think there were about 800 there and it was another splendid effort from the boys.

It’s Bonfire Night this week and last week and probably next week as well. I know I’ve gone on about this in the past and I am in no way a killjoy, Joshua George loved them when he was with us last weekend, but why is it every night for three weeks? Our dog goes mad and when they go off at 10 to two in the morning it does little for my sleep pattern.

On Saturday I popped to Wichenford for a peek at Keron and Andy’s wedding. All the very best to them, they are nice people.

Now here’s a link – my gran and Barack Obama. How come? Well listening to the new president this week he was talking about a woman of 106 who voted in the election and what she had seen in her lifetime. I remember my gran, who was born in 1990, telling us one day of the first time she saw a car, an airplane and the first time she spoke on a phone. She was over 50 when she saw a television.

There were no mobile phones, no internet and no James Bond. Now she is sat watching the soaps.

Gran says I must remind you to go along and help break a belly dancing world record tomorrow at Malvern Theatres. Registration is from 9.30am and there is the big dance at noon. Entrance is free and any donations to Children in Need would be well received.

Saturday night I was speaking at a dinner in Weobley. I must admit when I first got the invite I thought I’d made it and would be speaking at Wembley. Well, it is just an o instead of an m.

By the way, Martin and Candice, you can donate to Children in Need now you’ve appeared in this column. They know what I mean.
