A recent survey of young people sent to all MPs showed that they think the Government is more responsible for creating change than individuals. That worries me. We really do have the power to change the world as individuals – the people power the Worcester News rightly often salutes
When Tony Blair stormed to power 10 years ago, one of his big ideas was ‘joined-up government’ (JUG). Quite rightly, he insisted that governmental departments should work together, coordinating policy to ensure the best outcomes.
It’s been a busy time since Christmas in Worcestershire and there’s been some good news. Network Rail will redouble the Cotswold line, at least in part, meaning the scandalously unreliable rail services we currently enjoy – if that’s the word – should improve in a couple of years’ time.
THE decision by the county council not to be bounced by the Government and local Labour MPs into a botched and rushed plan to abolish our district councils is really good news.
