As a retired doctor who has seen the agony and distress to patients and their families from illnesses like motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and at a younger age, muscular dystrophy, I voted in favour of the measures in the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill.

AT the annual meeting of the All Party Floods Group, I was very pleased to be re-elected as one of the vice-chairmen. We have planned meetings with the Secretary of State, Hilary Benn, and with the Environment Agency to discuss the lessons learnt from recent floods.

I was concerned to learn from a casual meeting in Kidderminster last Saturday that a sentence in one of my previous articles in the Worcester News’ sister paper, the Kidderminster Shuttle, has been taken by members of the county cytology laboratory staff as criticism.
