A PHOTOGRAPH taken in the Welsh border country of a farmer feeding his sheep has won a place in the 2015 calendar of a Worcestershire auctioneers and valuers.

McCartneys, which has offices in Kidderminster and Stourport on Severn, organised a photo competition with the theme "The spirit of rural border life and property", with a slot in the calendar, plus photography vouchers, for the best effort.

The winner was Tracey Williams of Montgomery, Powys, whose image called "Feeding Time" was taken on the back road from Mellington to Bishops Castle, near Sadler's Wood, north west of Ludlow. The snow covered hills behind Churchstoke are visible in the background.

Among the competition judges was TV weather presenter Sian Lloyd and chairman of the judging committee, McCartneys property manager Tom Carter said: "We were absolutely delighted with the response to our first photography competition and congratulations to Tracey on her brilliant effort, which definitely captures the spirit of border life."
