BUSINESSES have only until Thursday, September 18 to dust off their cook books and bake some tasty cakes for the Great Chamber Bake off at Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce's upcoming Business Expo.

The event on the Three Counties showground at Malvern is part of a series of events celebrating the chamber winning the British Chambers of Commerce Chamber of the Year 2013 Award. Visitors to the expo will be asked to take their homemade cakes to be judged and sold to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Celebrity chef and Tastes of Worcestershire food ambassador Felice Tocchini has now been confirmed as one of the judges, alongside chamber chief executive Mike Ashton, Peter Rowland from Macmillan Cancer Support and Sam Barriscale, managing director of Ma Bakers. Felice, chef patron of Worcester restaurant Fusion Brasserie, is himself the creator of some unusual cakes, appearing on the BBC's 'One Show' with his sprouty cake made with the green vegetable. He said: "I am really looking forward to sampling the tasty cakes produced by local companies at the chamber's Business Expo. I'm sure it will be a great day with plenty to tickle my tastebuds, and all in aid of a good cause."

The Chamber Business Expo will also include the biggest business coffee morning in the two counties at 11am, where 250-300 guests can enjoy free tea and coffee and a slice of the delicious Chamber of the Year Cake, which will be supplied by Worcester-based business Ma Bakers. The coffee morning will raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and offer businesspeople invaluable networking opportunities.

Mr Ashton said: "Our Business Expo is one of the highlights of the year and always attracts hundreds of businesspeople. The Great Chamber Bake Off is a fantastic way to raise money for a worthy cause, and I am particularly looking forward to tasting the cakes with Felice, Peter and Sam."
