BRICKIES - and sales staff - on a Worcester new homes development will be getting in the pink to help raise awareness of breast cancer.

Staff working for housebuilder David Wilson Homes Mercia at its Broadheath Meadows development in Newtown Road, Ronkswood, are to wear pink hi-visibility vests to support the Breast Cancer Campaign. They will be joining the hundreds of thousands of people who take part in wear it pink every year, on Friday, October 24, by wearing pink clothing and donating to the cancer charity.

John Fitzgerald, managing director for David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: "We really wanted to get involved in wear it pink, and thought the best way to do this would be to ask site staff to wear pink hi-visibility vests on the day. As well as building quality homes, we want to help local communities and family charities, and I think this is a great way to do so. Not only is it a bit of fun, it also supports important, life-saving research, and we hope that we can help the Breast Cancer Campaign to raise more money than ever.”

Last year, £2.1 million was raised by wear it pink supporters funding lifesaving research across the UK and Ireland, and this year campaigners hope to raise even more through businesses, schools and individuals by wearing it pink.
