KIDDERMINSTER'S Brockway Carpets has announced changes to its board of directors.

Charles Annable has been appointed chairman and managing director with his father Roy Annable becoming president in honour of his outstanding business achievements.

The move is the latest in a strategy of senior level appointments this year by the Spennells Valley Road company, which saw the arrival of Shaun Lewis as sales director in June and the recent promotion of Steve Glover to national sales manager.

Charles Annable takes over the role of chairman from his father, who fifty years ago jointly acquired A G Brockway, then a small Axminster and Wilton carpet manufacturer dating back to the 1930s.

He said: “It is a huge privilege to take on this role from my father, who becomes president in honour of his tremendous devotion and hard work. I am extremely proud of his achievements and his great vision, which means we have a solid platform from which to build. It’s an exciting time for the Brockway brand. Our major product development programme is underway and we’re in an excellent place to position Brockway as the UK’s premier manufacturer of beautiful, wool-rich carpets.

“We believe strongly in British craftsmanship and are proud to manufacture beautiful, award-winning carpets which offer great value for money for everyone – whatever your budget or taste. Our highly skilled local workforce gives us a huge advantage over some of our overseas competitors. We have a high calibre management team in place with Shaun and Steve leading our sales programme, and I look forward with much anticipation to driving the business ahead.” said Charles.

As well as designing and manufacturing 15 different ranges, Brockway’s carpets come in hundreds of different colour choices across plain, heather and berber flecked styles.

Brockway carpets are sold throughout the UK and overseas, though an extensive network of major international retailers and the best independents
