BUSINESSES with the potential to grow, but which need help to navigate the planning system, can benefit from a free breakfast event on November 26 at the Civic Centre, Pershore.

The event, running from 8am-9.30pm, will have planners on hand to answer questions about planning permission, how to make a planning applications, pre-application advice, permitted development, change of use and anything else planning related businesses can think of.

Phil Merrick, head of community services at Wychavon District Council said: “We try to make the planning system as straightforward as possible, but we recognise that it can be confusing especially for most businesses who rarely get involved in the planning system. New and growing businesses are the lifeblood of our district and we want to make it as easy as possible for them to unleash their growth potential.

“Currently in Wychavon we have commercial developments costing around £262 million under construction and this wouldn’t be possible without supporting businesses through the planning process. We are keen to see this growth continue in the future.”

The event will highlight a range of recent commercial planning applications to provide businesses with tips and lessons. To book a place contact Jane Dobson, economic development officer on 01386 565278 or jane.dobson@wychavon.gov.uk
