PUTTING a foot on the career ladder in the housebuilding industry, former Blessed Edward Oldcorne student Will Yeoman has joined Bloor Homes among its latest group of apprentices.

Eighteen-years-old Mr Yeoman, who lives in Warndon Villages, Worcester, is working on the developer's Wildmore new homes scheme in the city off Spetchley Road.

He said: "I only started my apprenticeship in August but can already see the rewards which come from working with my hands in an outdoor environment. I know there are a lot of misconceptions about the building trade but I would highly recommend that anyone of my age considers joining the industry. It offers great training, the chance to apply and practice your skills straight away and the opportunity to work as part of a really supportive team. I am really thankful to Bloor Homes and look forward to a great three years while I complete my training.”

Steve Roberts, regional managing director, Bloor Homes Western, added: "We are all delighted to see such a talented and enthusiastic group of young trainees join the Bloor Homes team and look forward to seeing them and their careers grow. Our trainee programme not only helps to bring on a new generation of talent but also to develop more established members of the team in a very hands on mentoring process.”
