SMALL businesses in Worcestershire are being invited to a consultation event at Birmingham Airport on Friday to discuss plans for the future expansion of UK airport capacity

The Davies Airport Commission has announced three favoured proposals and so that business owners and other interested parties can understand the options the Federation of Small Businesses will host a consultation at Diamond House, Birmingham Airport on November 21 from 8.30am – 2pm.

Ken Wigfield, chairman of the FSB West Midlands Policy Group, said: "Expanding the reach of Birmingham Airport is crucial to facilitate the West Midlands true potential as a centre of manufacturing and technological development. Such expansion will undoubtedly underpin new and expanding overseas markets as well as attract much-needed inward investment."

The consultation event will provide presentations by key parties from the three shortlisted proposals; two from Heathrow and one from Gatwick together with a spokesperson from Birmingham Airport. More information, booking link and map can be found at www.fsb.org.uk/092

Jo Lloyd, commercial director of Birmingham Airport added: “The Airport is very pleased to provide small businesses from the region the opportunity to engage with the two airports shortlisted for additional runway capacity, as well as their own long haul airport. Despite the Airports Commission options both being in the South East, this is not just an issue for London but the whole country.”
