FLAGWAVING and fundraising business group Worcestershire Ambassadors has donated £30,000 to three local charities from its 2014 efforts.
Droitwich based Spectrum Days received £15,000 towards a new van for its work providing specialist support to people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their families.
Onside in Worcester, which provides a range of support and services to ensure fairness and equality for adults who may be vulnerable, disadvantaged, discriminated against. received £10,000 towards a vehicle, while Worcester Live in the city centre has received £5,000 to provide drama and acting workshops for underprivileged children in the local community.
The new chairman of Worcestershire Ambassadors Vince Hopkins said: "The Ambassadors’ board gathered at Stanbrook Abbey, Callow End with the three charities to officially make the donations. We are delighted to have been able to offer support, not just financially but the charities have all said that awareness of their work has been highlighted locally by working with our membership. The Worcestershire Ambassadors has more than135 members from Worcestershire businesses, each committed to supporting and promoting each other and the county, and so this is great feedback.”
