A BOWLING evening for charity turned out to be a striking success when more than 30 businesses sent team to take part.

Hosted by Bowl Xtreme in Worcester, it was organised by commercial insurance brokers Sutcliffe & Co and independent financial advisors McCarthy Taylor to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice and Cystic Fibrosis.

Thirty two teams eventually made it to the line and after a closely contested but light-hearted bowling competition, Ballard Dale Syree Watson, accountants of Droitwich, were declared the winners. Charlotte Fullard from Halls Commercial won the £25 cheque for guessing the nearest number of strikes bowled during the evening, which was 197.

Duncan Sutcliffe, director at Sutcliffe & Co, said: “It was great to see so many local businesses having fun for such worthy causes. A special thank you must go to the generosity of the staff at Bowl Xtreme who made the event such a success.” Paul Taylor, chief executive at McCarthy Taylor, added: "We would like to thank everyone who joined us at this enjoyable event. The evening was very well attended and we are delighted to have raised this money for St Richard’s Hospice and Cystic Fibrosis.”
