SCHOOLCHILDREN are being offered tickets to see Kidderminster Harriers as rewards for good work and to help their fundraising for sports equipment.

Through ongoing support of the football club, the Community Housing Group, which is based in Kidderminster, has donated adult and child match tickets to four local primary schools for the third year running.

"The tickets will provide young people and their families with the opportunity to go along and watch their local team while experiencing the excitement and thrills of a live sporting event, " said Mark Searl, Harriers' commercial manager. "Each school has received an allocation of tickets, which they will use to reward pupils and to help fundraise for sports equipment. This will also hopefully inspire them to not only support their local team but to get involved in recreational sports themselves. We are pleased to help support the Community Housing Group’s initiative because the club plays an integral part in the community and hopefully those receiving the tickets will have an enjoyable afternoon with us.”

Ray Brookes, chief executive of the the Community Housing Group, added: “Partnerships like this are an important part of how we demonstrate the added value that we bring to the communities we work within. It will enable more children to enjoy a live sporting event and a fun experience they won’t forget. Not only are we supporting a local business and local football team, but the promotion of healthy living and sport”.
