THE site manager of a new homes development in Evesham has won a top industry award for running one of the best-run building sites in the UK.

James Arrowsmith has gained official recognition for his work at Barratt Homes West Midland’s development The Orchards in Offenham Road with a Pride in the Job Quality Award.

The awards are the most coveted in the housebuilding industry and are given after the construction standard setting body National House-Building Council carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality housing developments.

Mr Arrowsmith was among five Barratt Homes sites managers recognised in the competition and Barratt West Midlands managing director Adrian Farr said: “This official recognition of our site managers’ dedication and hard work shows that Barratt is building some of the best quality homes in the country. The Site Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality new homes that we can be proud of and that is why we are so delighted with these national awards. This is truly an outstanding result and one which should inspire confidence in our buyers.”

The Pride in the Job Quality Award is the only UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building. It has been instrumental in driving up the quality of new homes for 35 years. Almost 15,000 site managers across the country were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.
