A NEW style of charity has been launched for young people in Worcestershire.

Young Solutions, which replaces Worcestershire Council for Voluntary Youth Services, will provide support to voluntary youth organisations across the county and provide child and adolescent safeguarding services.

Its patron is local businessman and benefactor Cecil Duckworth, president of Worcester Warriors, who has a long association working with young people through sport and education.

Young Solutions chairman Michael Hunter, said: "The launch opens an exciting chapter regarding work with young people in Worcestershire. The charity aims to support volunteers and others working with young people helping to ensure there are quality opportunities."

An important part of the new charity is its trading arm The Right Solutions, which, in the light of recent concerns about child sexual exploitation, provides services to the hospitality and leisure sectors making sure they know how to react if they suspect a safeguarding issue.

Phil Street, manager of Young Solutions, added: "We have set up our trading arm The Right Solutions to help hotels, pubs and leisure centres keep their brand, staff and customers safe. We know the vast majority of hotels, pubs and leisure centres will never have problems with child or adolescent protection matters, but it will give them peace of mind to know they will be able to respond if they do spot something that worries them."

Young Solutions serves youth organisations across Worcestershire, but has its offices in Droitwich.
