A NATIONAL retailer of approved used cycle components has opened in Malvern with the aim of making the sport cheaper for local enthusiasts.

UK Cycle Centre has taken over a unit on Enigma Business Park in Betony Road specialising in graded cycle components and with a specialist service centre which can provide custom built bikes.

It is being run by manager Adam Broadhurst, who graduated in management at Manchester Metropolitan University, with Matt Smith as workshop manager.

"The business has created three jobs initially and we hope to take on three more employees over the next 12 months," said Mr Broadhurst. "Matt has vast experience in all aspects of bicycle mechanics and is Cytech 3 qualified as well as Fox and DTSwiss approved. So customers can be assured of top quality service."

Opening the Malvern store is part of UK Cycle Centre's national expansion plans, which aim to build on the growing popularity of the pastime and sport.
