COMMUNICATIONS specialist Henry Pepper PR has been appointed the media partner for a Worcestershire sports-based non-profit organisation.

The Stourport-on-Severn public relations agency will now lead media relations and PR activity across the region for CG5 – an organisation founded to promote sport and provide grants to local disabled athletes, young people and sports clubs.

Formed in 2014 by four trustees, who include former Worcester Warriors lock Craig Gillies, CG5 has just awarded its first set of grants to local athletes.

Loraine Henry, founder and managing director of Henry Pepper PR, said: “We are delighted to play our part in promoting the next chapter of CG5’s story and to offer our expertise and support. I was lucky enough to attend CG5’s official launch event this summer and was so struck with the passion and drive they have about getting people from all backgrounds interested in sport. They themselves are a real inspiration and we are really thrilled to be part of the team. They are set to do so much for young sports people in Worcestershire.”

Steve Edwards, a CG5 trustee added: “Lorraine and her team bring a wealth of experience to the table and it is great for us to have secured her services. Lorraine has the respect and expertise we need as we look to promote the charity and encourage the next generation to participate, develop and excel in sport.

“We all carry a huge love for sport and in only a short space of time we have made exceptional progress with grants being awarded and further fundraising events in the calendar for next year. It’s an exciting time for CG5.”

Apart Messrs Gillies and Edwards, CG5’s other trustees are Worcestershire businessmen Phill Mason and Simon Secretan. One of their sporting ambassadors is Worcester Warriors player, Andy Short.
