A FORMER University of Worcester student has been named the most entrepreneurial in the UK.

Twenty one years old Jordan Forrest, who studied at the university's Business School, has won the 2015 Federation of Small Businesses Award for most entrepreneurial student.

His prize will include an all expenses paid visit to the House of Commons as guest of Worcester’s MP, Robin Walker, and a visit to FSB’s press and parliamentary office, in Westminster.

Mr Forrest, who is from Rugby and graduated in the recent university ceremony in Worcester Cathedral, has also landed a job with H & K International, a global giant specialising in supplying equipment to the hospitality sector.

Judi Brazkiewicz, chairman of FSB Worcestershire, joined Tim Maxfield, the university’s head of business development, to make the award said:

“This is the fourth year that FSB has worked with the University and every year I’m absolutely blown away by the hard work, dedication, determination and ingenuity that our young people bring to the FSB’s Sponsored Student campaign. I understand that Jordan will leave Worcestershire to join his first big employer at Rugby, I wish him every possible success for the future and ask him not to forget FSB, as from little acorns great oaks do grow.”

Mr Forrest added: "I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at University of Worcester and particularly liked the entrepreneurship modules within my three year course. Any entrepreneurialism I have I probably get from my mother, who has run her own business for many years and tells me that customers will come back time and time again if you give them good service and quality products. I did start an online retailing business a while ago, but it was extremely competitive, so I decided to concentrate on landing a job with a large employer so that I can gain more experience, which is crucial no matter what the size of business is. I’m really looking forward to my visit to the House of Commons, I’ve never been before, so it’s going to be a very special day for me."
