A VINTAGE shop in what was an old village bakery has won a major creative living award.

Vintage and gift shop Lottie & Friends in Fladbury, near Evesham, took a Period Living magazine award in the creative conversion category for readers' homes.

Run by Lottie Ooi, the former village bakery and shop, is part of the Craycombe Farm complex alongside the A44.

Mrs Ooi said: "I am really chuffed with this particular prize, because my enterprise is all about creative living. Indeed it was called 'Lottie's Creative Living' before I took on the shop and then it became Lottie & Friends

"It's a style that relies on creative ingenuity rather than on big spending, and therefore is affordable to all who will make time to think and play. In my studio I teach Annie Sloan chalk painting classes and hold 'Revamp your Lamp' workshops to tickle people's creativity. Painting furniture is a dramatic tool to make over an interior and create your own style". Mrs Ooi, who is Dutch born, has been a decorative artist for 25 years and is one of Annie Sloan's longest-serving stockists.

The Period Living article demonstrates how her passion for vintage encompasses her entire lifestyle right from her Morris 1000 car parked outside the shop or to the sound of the bell on the Victorian till.
