WORCESTER barber Jon Bourne has been recognised as one of the UK's best.

At the recent British Master Barber Live Show, where he was a judge, Mr Bourne, who runs Jon Bourne’s Barbertown in the city, was presented with the British Master Barber Award for his skill, hard work and contribution to the British barbering industry.

He said: "I've been in the barbering trade for more than 25 years and during this time I've seen the industry evolve and barbering becoming ever more popular. I'd like to think this award reflects the standards and quality that we promote every day and represents the values that underpin Barbertown.

"We pride ourselves on providing a high quality service using traditional 'old school' cutting and styling techniques with a modern twist. It’s about the whole experience, taking time out and enjoying a cold beer, some banter and most importantly getting a great cut from an experienced barber. These values and passion are shared by our team of barbers, who have a wealth of experience and bring their own individual style to make Barbertown a unique place to come."

Mr Bourne has two shops in Worcester, in St John's and The Tything. He is a member of the artistic team for Hairbond and is often requested to judge barbering events, as well regularly holding masterclasses in London.
