FACED with the busiest period in its nine year history, flood protection specialist Flood Angel is really going with the flow.

It has appointed a new managing director in Anita van Vuuren and opened a state of the art flood door manufacturing plant at its Droitwich factory.

Mrs van Vuuren has spent her career in a variety of senior manufacturing roles and her building sector experience is coupled with extensive manufacturing sector experience.

While the company's specialist engineers are also welcoming the arrival of new door manufacturing equipment that will enable them to undertake the complete ‘end to end’ production process all under one roof. Set within the 12,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, the new equipment includes sophisticated UPVC cutting, welding and routing equipment that will enable expansion of the current Kitemark certified door range and accommodate an increase in production volumes to address growing customer demand.

Mrs van Vuuren said: "I am absolutely delighted to have joined such a professional organisation that demands such high quality standards. When it comes to flooding, there are no second chances. Mitigation products have to be of the highest quality every time and by taking all stages of the manufacturing process in house we can minimise even further the chance of any production errors”.

Flood Angel chief executive Frank Kelly, who started the manufacturing business back in 2007, believes his new appointment and capital investment will help the company to grow ever further.

He added: "The flood sector is one of the fastest growing in the UK today. The threat to homes and communities is set to get worse and as market leader I believe we have a duty to deliver the highest quality products possible. The UK and the Midlands in particular have a reputation for being home to some of the very best engineering brains. The Flood Angel team are no exception and with our new state of the art machinery and Anita at the helm, they are a winning combination that will grow the business and our ability to meet customer demand”.
