STAFF from a Worcester insurance broker will be taking part in a cycling challenge to raise money for Deaf Direct.
Keen cyclists from Sutcliffe & Co will be donning trainers and cycling helmets, and taking part in the JustRide Duathlon - Arden Attack on Sunday, February 19.
Duncan Sutcliffe, Sutcliffe director, said: “We’ve signed up to take part in the JustRide Duathlon and are asking for support and donations to help smash our fundraising target of £800.
"We’ll attempt to tackle the 26km course racing in a mix of teams and individuals and raise as much as we can for Deaf Direct in the process.
“This event is a first for our company and most of the participants, and is definitely out with many comfort zones.
"However, taking on this challenge to secure donations for such a great cause is giving us the incentive we need.”
The charity works in the Midlands supporting deaf and hard of hearing people.
Philip Gerrard, chief executive of Deaf Direct, said: “We are thrilled that Sutcliffe & Co is supporting Deaf Direct.
"We are both Worcester organisations making a difference in our local communities.
"Services for deaf people are under resourced and it is thanks to the hard work and commitment of businesses such as Sutcliffe & Co that we can continue to help local deaf and hard of hearing children and adults. Please donate if you can, the team are being very brave by taking on this challenge.
"We hope everyone taking part gets a personal best and thank them for making a difference to those living with hearing loss.”
