WEST Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin met up with a leading Malvern leading business, while flying the flag for the UK in India.

The MP was visiting the Aero India exhibition in Bangalore as part of her defence ministry duties, when she took the chance to meet up with Dr Richard Wiseman from UTC which was one of more than 20 UK companies taking part in the event.

UTC recently moved into its custom built corporate headquarters in Malvern Hills Science Park where Harriett also has her offices.

The Indian trip is part of the Government’s push to build trade links with Indian companies as well as showcasing the some of the most innovative technology in the defence, aviation and security sectors.

Mrs Baldwin said: “The UK and India have much to offer one another in defence, from manufacturing collaboration and simplified export controls, to military cooperation, training and research partnerships.

As Britain steps up globally, we will work together with India to build knowledge, security and prosperity through a close industrial, military and economic partnership.

“It was great to meet up with Richard and hear the latest news from one of Malvern’s most successful exporters.

“I hope that UTC will share their wide-ranging export expertise with local businesses as we look the make the most of a new global future for our country.”
