A WORCESTER City Football Club academy team have been given a boost this season with a sponsorship deal with Bristol Street Motors.

The company, which sells new and used cars, is this season sponsoring the Worcester City under 14s team, with the Bristol Street name being displayed on the shirts.

The firm has a dealership in Cosgrove Close in Worcester and has been trading for nearly 100 years after being established in Bristol Street, Birmingham.

Members of the team, as well as representatives from Worcester City FC, recently enjoyed a trip to the dealership, and posed for a photograph proudly wearing their kit carrying Bristol Street Motors name.

The under 14s team, managed by Steve Humpheys, and coached by Olly Wilcox and Darren Mills, have been in excellent form this season, winning 17 of the 20 games played already.

These have included wins of 10-0, 10-1, 9-0, and 8-0.

The team's last outing was playing host to Kidderminster Harriers under 14 team, on the artificial pitch in Pershore, as their normal home pitch was waterlogged.

Worcester dominated for large periods as they recorded an impressive 9-2 victory.

League matches usually take place on Saturday mornings, with 10.30am kick offs, unless otherwise agreed with the opposition.

Stuart Lamb who is the General Manager for Worcester dealership, said: "It is always great to be able to support local young teams or individuals, as we at Bristol Street are dedicated to local social and sport development.

"And its a privilege to be associated with such a well organised and successful team."

Anyone interested in requesting a trial for the team is asked to call Mr Humphey's on 07418136964, providing the youngster's date of birth, position played, and previous clubs played for.
