A MAJOR car brand chose a Worcestershire hotel as the exclusive venue for the launch of a new vehicle.

Taking place over a five day period last month, the new Discovery was launched by Land Rover at the Evesham hotel the Wood Norton.

The launch featured a number of prestigious guests including national automotive and lifestyle journalists and included a talk from renowned Explorer and Land Rover Ambassador, Sir Ranulph Fiennes.

The event included a drive over the Brecon Beacons, starting and ending from the hotel, and a demanding off-road route at Eastnor Castle, Land Rover’s legendary off-road engineering facility, to demonstrate the capabilities of the Discovery.

Boasting an unrivalled position overlooking the Bredon Hills, The Wood Norton is no stranger to hosting exclusive events, last summer being selected by Malaysian oil firm, Petronas, as the launch venue for its new Syntium 3000 AV synthetic car engine oil.

General manager of The Wood Norton, Steve Sweeny, said: “We work hard to create a bespoke offering, in an exclusive location, for corporate clients from across the UK and overseas - and have established some excellent long term working relationships as a result.

“I am extremely delighted that The Wood Norton has been selected as the launch venue for the new Land Rover Discovery and am hopeful that this is the start of an excellent working relationship."
