WORCESTER'S MP has visited the city headquarters of a cyber security firm after recently being awarded a prestigious award.

Robin Walker visited the city headquarters of Titania on April 21 after it was announced that they had added to their impressive trophy haul by winning a 2017 Queen's award for enterprise.

Founded in 2009 the firm opened their Worcester headquarters in December 2010.

Titania offers a range of cyber security software to clients around the world, with the company going from strength to strength in recent years, with their work praised as part of the Government's cyber security strategy.

It follow the recent commitment by the government to invest £1.9 billion of investment in cyber security over the next five years.

The MP visited the company’s Barbourne Road office and congratulated Titania founders Ian and Nicola Whiting on their win in person.

He has previously praised the firm for their strong record on hiring and training apprentices and for their work as an autism-friendly employer.

He met with their latest apprentice during his visit and heard how the company was getting involved with wider initiatives to support the recruitment and retention of people with autism.

Mr Walker said: "Cyber Security is very much a growth sector and one that is increasingly important for Worcestershire.

“Titania are a fantastic company championing the British brand around the world and I am delighted to have them in my constituency, particularly because of their work on autism friendly employment and apprenticeships.

“I wish Ian and Nicola all the very best for the continued success of their company, which is doing vital work developing the technology needed to keep both public and private sector networks secure.”
