TO raise awareness of the issues affecting the UK haulage industry, national supply chain specialist TM Logistics met with Harriett Baldwin, Conservative party candidate for West Worcestershire.
The meeting, which was part of an ongoing campaign organised by the Freight Transport Association, took place at TML’s head office at Martley, near Worcester.
As well as talking to staff, Mrs Baldwin was given an overview of the UK haulage sector.
According to TML’s managing director Grahame Taylor, it was a chance for her to get a real feel for the issues facing his business.
“We were delighted to welcome Mrs Baldwin and it was great to be given the opportunity to showcase our work and our people,” said Mr Taylor.
“For 70 years, our company has played a vital role in the region’s economy, supporting customers the length and breadth of the UK with innovative, tailor-made solutions.
Speaking after her visit, Mrs Baldwin said: “It was fascinating to hear how this local, family-owned business has become a major national company, employing over 350 people in a very competitive marketplace.”
