Youngsters help open revamped Co-op store

Gill Corbett, centre, manager of the Co-op in Lichfield Avenue, Ronkswood, Worcester, has celebrated the opening of the revamped store.

She was helped by assistants Becky Corbett and Charlie Hancocks along with pupils from the city’s Perrywood Primary School Kimberley Bevan, seven, Hannah Portman, eight, Katie Deakin, 10, Hayden Hall, nine, Abbie Weston, 11, and Jaydon Smith, six. The Co-op presented the youngsters with a donation of £200 towards school funds to mark the occasion.

Ms Corbett said: “It is appropriate we involve the community and we are delighted our local school could play a role in the relaunch of our store.”

The store includes a 50 per cent increase in chilled and fresh foods.
