A BOOM in business has led to IT security firm Encription moving to new purpose-built premises in Worcestershire.
The company, which has been based in Bevere, near Worcester, for the past three years, has expanded and diversified to such a degree that it outgrew its previous home.
It is now at Foley Business Park in Kidderminster.
As well as continuing its work in penetration testing and checking the security of websites and IT systems for organisations nationwide – including local government, solicitors, accountants and building societies – Encription is now also working in the field of IT forensics.
Its new offices will accommodate a dedicated forensic testing laboratory, as well as a specialised training area.
Co-director Tony McDowell said: “More and more organisations are acknowledging the need – and legal obligation – to protect themselves from the increasing threat posed by illegal hackers, who can easily access confidential information when sites are not secure.
“These clients are turning to us to help them because we are recognised as experts in our field and we have an excellent track record. While our old offices served us well, we are all delighted that we now have a new building that has been specially designed to meet our needs and which will ensure that we have the capacity to cope with a growing workload in the coming years.”
Among its growing list of credentials, Encription recently gained green light status under the ‘Check’ scheme, qualifying it as one of fewer than 30 companies worldwide to carry out work at the highest levels of security for GCHQ.
Check was developed on behalf of the communications-electronics security group (part of GCHQ) to enhance the availability and quality of IT health check services provided to the government.
