A unique business is celebrating two years of serving espresso coffee at Worc-ester’s bustling business parks and estates with a week of celebrations. Paul Abernethy, who runs Cafe2U Worcester, started his business in April 2008.

Despite the economic downturn he has built up a loyal base with a daily delivery of cappuccinos, lattes and flat whites and a range of hot and cold snacks to people in their offices.

Business is no so good that over the past month Mr Abernethy has been looking at other places in Worcester where he can expand.

He said: “Basically, Cafe2U is a cafe on wheels and demand has never been stronger.

“The number of people drinking espresso coffee is on the increase and rather than disappoint we have added two hours to our day to make time for new business who want our service and to give more time for serving new customers in their place of work.”

During his anniversary week – which began on Monday – Mr Abernethy has been out and about in Worcester organising free tasting sessions of his coffee and sandwiches.

He said: “The introduction of freshly-produced local sandwiches has been an outstanding success and I am now able to offer a personalised sandwich service in addition to buffets and platters for meetings and special events.

“Hitting the two-year milestone has been hard work, but I love what I do and look forward to welcoming new faces as well as rewarding all my customers during our anniversary celebrations.”

Later this year he will be raising funds with West Mercia Police at the Help for Heroes Action Day at Throckmorton Airfield, near Pershore, on June 13.

He said: “We have always supported charities when possible such as Macmillan and the Red Cross. “I think it is great that the business can be utilised to help support the community and at the same time more people can get to enjoy my coffee.”

Cafe2U will also be attending other weekend events during the summer.
