You can bank on them to do an excellent job

BANKING staff have swapped their pens and computers for paint brushes and rollers to decorate a parents and babies room at a children’s centre in Malvern.

Members of the Royal Bank of Scotland’s group resourcing team were challenged to transform a room at the recently opened Evergreen Children’s Centre in Malvern Link into a place that parents and new babies can use.

With this in mind, the 15-strong team, which is based throughout Britain, divided various decorating and cleaning tasks between themselves and completely decorated the room in one day.

In addition to giving up their time to do the decorating, the RBS team has raised more than £500 for Barnardo’s, the charity which cares for vulnerable children and young people.

Dawn Hathaway, who took part in the RBS community challenge day at the Evergreen Children’s Centre, said: “My colleagues and I are very much aware of the great work Barnardo’s do throughout the UK and we wanted to do something to help.

“When we heard about the work the Evergreen Children’s Centre needed, we jumped at the chance to have both a fun team-building day and to help the charity.

“It was a lot of hard work, but the room looks great, and I know it will make a real difference to the parents who rely on the centre.”

The Evergreen Children’s Centre moved to 215 Worcester Road, Malvern Link, earlier this year after using offices at the town’s Prospect View Medical Centre in Pickersleigh Road.

The Evergreen Centre provides free activities, advice and information to parents with a child under five and parents-to-be, baby massage courses, dads groups, sing and sign sessions and access to health and education information and counselling support.

Although the centre now has its own premises, the set-up is still reliant on help from volunteers, such as the team from RBS, to make a difference.

It’s a great pity that people don’t look into the history of the charities they support for I am sure if they did re Barnardo's they might well think twice. For whilst the last prime minister was apologizing before he left office for the great wrong done to thousands of child migrants what has not been addressed is the part played by Barnardo's who contrary to all that is good were one of the main agents used by the State to make possible such trafficking of defenceless children to Australia, NZ, Canada, Rhodesia and other countries stripped as they were in many a case of their own true identity and age even to the point of being told that either their parents were dead or didn’t love or want them, such was the evil intent that still to this day victims are lost in a vortex of grieving and emptiness and yes they suffered the worst of all possible child abuse. Suffice to say Barnardo's has much to answer for and as such should not be involved with children, full stop. In fact all they are is a well-oiled money making machine reason being that for the best part they act as a referral agency to the already public funded Social Service, suffice to say any monies they have should be given to their victims but unfortunately however it will be at your expense the donator should you continue to support Barnardo’s.
