Staff get a pat on back

STAFF members who help Worcestershire residents save money by conserving energy in their homes have been praised for their excellent customer service.

The quarterly report, carried out by Maven Research on behalf of the Energy Saving Trust head office, showed that the West Midlands advice centre, which covers Worcestershire, had exceeded its targets for the third quarter in a row in all areas of customer satisfaction with 84 per cent of the 104 customers questioned saying they would recommend the service to a friend.

That is four per cent above the satisfaction target level of 80 per cent set by the trust. The report also showed that nine out of 10 customers were happy with the courtesy and patience of the energy advisers answering their phone calls as well as with their understanding of customer needs and their ability to explain things in an easy-to-understand manner.

Sixty-nine per cent said they were likely to contact the the trust again for advice on domestic energy efficiency, renewables, water and waste management or sustainable transport.

Lynn Melling, Energy Saving Trust West Midlands advice centre manager, said: “We’re delighted that our energy advisers have scored so highly in the latest customer satisfaction report.

“Our next challenge is to highlight to the public in general how, despite concerns that some measures, such as insulation, are beyond their budget, they will actually save money, often even in the short-term.

“The initial outlay can be recouped quite quickly and the measures are very worthwhile.”
