A HOST of firms and organisations from across Worcestershire are battling it out for the top honours in next year’s Midlands Business Awards with no fewer than three from the county having made the shortlist of five for the Midlands Exporter of the Year title.
Evesham-based chef Alan Coxon will be seeking to add an accolade for his success in exporting his range of historic vinegars to the Maitrise Escoffier award by the Conseil Culinaire Francais that he won last month.
Also in the running is Waste Spectrum Environ-mental, based in Wyld’s Lane, Worcester, which supplies a range of incinerators aimed at the agricultural and medical markets in particular. It also has in its portfolio a range of heat recovery units that allow for greener operations by allowing the heat to be reused.
Master Magnets of Redditch, UK’s No.1 manufacturer of industrial magnetic separation equipment and renowned for a wide range of services and products, is the other contender from the county.
In addition, Simon Beacham of Redditch-based ABC Solutions (UK), which provides integrated solutions for office and commercial property interiors, has made the final five for the Midlands Networker of the Year award.
The University of Worcester is flying the flag for the city as one of five higher education establishments in the Midlands Enterprising University of the Year category.
The awards are now in their fifth year and have grown annually.
They culminate in a gala dinner and ceremony to be held on Friday, January 28, at the NEC Hilton Metropole Hotel.
This year’s guest of honour will be Caroline Waters OBE, director of people and policy for BT Group.
