Call for fewer suits in NHS

10:44am Wednesday 11th April 2001

If Mr Tony Blair has given the NHS more cash, then that money must be used for an immediate pay award of 15 per cent for GPs, consultants, surgeons, doctors and nurses, the back up teams who deal with patients working in labs testing blood etc.

It should bring back some NHS staff who left for better paid jobs and help to stop staff leaving the NHS.

Cut the number of NHS bureaucrats in hospitals and local health authorities who never see a patient or hospital. It's millions for NHS bureaucrats daily and billions yearly all money taken from patient care.

The patients are, and always will be. at the bottom of the heap.
