THE world's biggest bunny has lost his title - to his wife'.

Roberto the rabbit, who is owned by Annette Edwards from Bunnyland in Lowesmoor Wharf, Worcester, is now four inches shorter and half-a-stone lighter than his mate Amy.

The Worcester News reported in April 2006 how the two continental giant rabbits got hitched wearing wedding costumes in a ceremony that angered animal cruelty campaigners.

Even then Amy, who is also owned by Mrs Edwards and is already the mother of 32, was two inches longer than Roberto.

But now she has grown even more and measures 4ft from back legs to front paws and weighs in at 40lb - heavier than the average three-year-old child.

Amy, who lives in a dog kennel, eats two apples, a handful of carrots, half a cabbage, fresh hay, and a dog bowl of rabbit food every day.

But Mrs Edwards says she is a fussy eater.

"The carrots must have their green tops still on, and the hay has to be fresh and green or she won't eat it," she added.

She is confident that the next unofficial record holder will be one of Roberto and Amy's children, who sell for around £200 each.
