Police hunt burglary suspect

POLICE have issued a description of a man being hunted in connection with four burglaries, or attempted burglaries, in Evesham.

The offences took place in the High Street between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The man is described as white, aged between 17 and 21, 5ft 8ins, and of medium build, with short, light brown hair, clean-shaven and wearing a navy blue top with orange and white stripes and dark trousers.

A male matching the description was seen near two of the incidents and police are not ruling out a link with the third and fourth crimes.

"Someone will realise from the detailed descriptions we have received who this person is and will - we hope - act responsibly and identify him to us," said a police spokesman.

The man was seen at or near two of the four targeted premises - one between 6.45pm and 7.20pm on Tuesday, when small amounts of cash and cigarettes were taken - and a second, between 3pm on Tuesday and 7.57am on Wednesday, when nothing was stolen.

In two other incidents - where no-one was seen - a small amount of cash was taken from one address between 10pm on Tuesday and 9am on Wednesday.

Nothing is believed to be missing from the fourth incident where premises were entered, between 10pm on Tuesday and 6am on Wednesday.

Anyone with information can call police on 08457 444 888, quoting 631S/250308 for the first offence, 97S/260308 for the second, 166S/260308 for the third or 93S/260308 for the fourth. Information can also be given - anonymously - to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
