New sentence for woman who ignored punishment - court

A WOMAN who breached her community order after assaulting a neighbour has been re-sentenced.

Mandy MacDonald, of Nibley Close, Warndon, appeared before Magistrates on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old had appeared before the court earlier this month when she admitted breaching her community punishment and rehabilitation order, which was imposed in May 2006.

She had been given the order for a common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm - both on her neighbour, in August 2004.

MacDonald had also failed to attend appointments with the probation service.

Chair of the Magistrates David Hall said he wanted to stress to MacDonald the importance of understanding the terms of her community order, and if she breached it she would have other matters taken into account.

"You have come close to a custodial sentence and not for the first time in your 35 years."

MacDonald was given a community rehabilitation order for 18 months for each offence to run concurrently, with the expectation that she attend the general offenders behaviour programme.
