A PUPIL from Hanley Castle High School has been shortlisted in a young writers' award.
Orla Owen has made the top 20 in the 15- to 17-year-old category of the Wicked Young Writers Award.
The award, which celebrates its fifth year in 2015, launched in Spring 2010 to reward excellence in writing, encourage creativity and help develop writing talent in young people across the UK.
It was set up by the team behind Wicked, the hugely successful West End musical.
The 2015 awards will be presented by judge Cressida Cowell, author of the bestselling How to Train Your Dragon series.
