A FORENSIC Psychology graduate from the University of Worcester has secured a prestigious internship at Erlestoke Prison in Wiltshire.

Nathan Rollins will spend the next three months working across a number of departments at the prison, with the opportunity to extend the internship at the end.

He said: "I am so thrilled to have been selected for this internship.

"We were told about it by our lecturer and I said I was interested.

"I was put forward and was so pleased when I heard I had been successful."

Nathan, aged 31, from Reigate, Surrey, has just completed his degree at the university.

"I’ve always had an interest in criminal areas of psychology and what makes people offend," said the former Kingston College pupil.

"As I progressed through my degree I became more interested in mental health and inmates.

"I’m interested in how to help rehabilitate people and this internship is a great opportunity for me to work with professionals in this field and get hands-on experience."

While completing his studies, Nathan took part in a number of volunteering opportunities, including working with Crimestoppers.

"I wanted to get as much experience as I could alongside my degree, and I think it is this that has helped me to secure this internship," he said.

Nathan is hoping to continue his studies in the future with a Postgraduate degree.
