Joy for shoppers as new store sets sights on city

IN just under a month’s time, one of my favourite high street shops for clothes to wear when you are relaxing is coming to Worcester.

Although it may be bleak times out there at the moment, the city does seem to be having it’s fair share of new stores opening, so this is really positive to see a national chain having faith in Worcester and setting up right in the centre of town – and creating 12 more jobs in the area, made up of full and parttime staff.

White Stuff, who’s motto is ‘Lovely Clothes for Lovely People’ will be opening its doors on the High Street on Friday, June 26, and will be setting up among the combination of independent shops and larger chains at 20-22 High Street.

White Stuff sells clothing and accessories for men and women, including beautiful wrap dresses, classic shirts, gorgeous printed tunics, unique jewellery and vintage leather bags.

Their products are known for their attention to detail, quality at reasonable prices and unique prints – all designed in-house.

Some local people will know White Stuff products from their wholesale presence in several independent retailers in the area.

David Abramson, White Stuff’s retail director said: “We’ve built an incredibly loyal customer base over the years, especially in the south and west of England where we have more of a presence.

“From research we’ve done with our mail order customers, we know that people in the West Midlands want to see White Stuff shops on their local high streets and Worcester is a very typical city for a White Stuff shops, as it’s a beautiful, historical setting with a strong shopping culture too.

“We are now really looking forward to settling in and getting to know our new neighbours.”

Shoppers in Worcester can also expect fun and quirky events, special discount nights and weird and wonderful window displays.

Lee Cooper, creative director said: “We think it’s really important to inject some humour into everything we do – whether it’s our window displays, quirky shop fittings and signage or our fun customer events, which we hold four times a year.

“Local people can expect some unusual happenings at White Stuff throughout the year.”

Essential item for summer months

SO, the sunshine is here and the days are still nice and long – which makes your mood so much better when you go about your daily routine.
