IT'S been another harrowing few days for Worcester's Mayor Councillor Alan 'fiasco' Amos, who has hit double figures for the number of events he's managed to miss since June.

The murky one managed to surprise even those with exceedingly low expectations by being notoriously absent at the opening of this year's Three Choirs Festival last month.

But for those who believe the only people genuinely unimpresssed by his absence were rival councillors left scalded by his departure from Labour, think again.

Worcestershire's Lord Lieutenant Patrick Holcroft, no less the Queen's representative in the county, was heard voicing his displeasure at our man being AWOL.

Lt Col Holcroft, who after spending 19 years with the Grenadier Guards is as tough as they come, has also made it clear that when he invites the mayor to any of his events, he expects him to attend.

Blimey. Let's just hope for Worcester's sake Her Majesty doesn't get involved.

* WHILST we are on the topic of love and togetherness congratulations should go to one of Worcester's top tories Councillor Marc Bayliss, who has just got married.

Cllr Bayliss, Worcester City Council's deputy leader, is incidentally a good friend of our mayor, presumably because they are both experts at switching political allegiance.

His wedding bash, incidentally, was just before the opening of this year's Three Choirs Festival, which may or may not explain why some high-profile Conservatives didn't take up their invites to the official launch of the cultural showcase.

But The Source would love to know if the murky one got a wedding invite.

* ONE of Worcester's unsung heroes is the mayor's officer, who has the often insufferable job of having to deal with our first citizen's correspondence and administration.

Susan O'Kane, who has done the job for the last decade, is about to retire from the role and plans are well underway for a farewell get-together at the end of August to mark her service.

Several former mayors and their consorts have already promised to be there but not Cllr Amos, incidentally - he's already sent his apologies.

* WORCESTERSHIRE MEP Bill Etheridge has been giving advice to young UKIP hopefuls, telling them to speak like Hitler if they want to get on in politics, which the Mail on Sunday ripped him to shreds for.

Funnily enough those with good memories may recall how in May 2013 a UKIP Worcestershire County Council candidate Richard Delingpole, who was standing in St John's, published a doctored image of himself on the internet standing behind Adolf Hitler.

Isn't it a small world!
