IT'S been eight months since the Mayor of Worcester Councillor Alan 'fiasco' Amos decided to ditch his old Labour colleagues in his moment of excitement, but they aren't letting go of the naked animosity.

The murky one, who has survived so much flak it'd make Perez from Big Brother blush, is busy putting together an extravaganza called the 'Best of Worcester' awards, a charitable bash celebrating all that is, er, good about the city.

Reaching out over the awkward divide, he's gone and invited Labour councillors galore, resulting in Paul and Lynn Denham sending out a round-robin email reminding him of his infamous "dirty deal", calling it "self-interested, hurtful and extremely disloyal".

It says: "We find it ironic you have the nerve to use this title for the event."

At least that's two chairs going spare. Anyone for a Halloumi skewer?

* IT'S all kicking off in Malvern, where rumour has it district leader Councillor David Hughes is clinging on for dear mercy, with Conservative Phil Grove, his predecessor, looking to grab another punt at it.

Last month Malvern's Tories were privately considering a 'no confidence' vote on their dear boss, resulting in deputy Paul Swinburn taking rather desperate measures to avoid it becoming a reality.

The Source has even been told things became so spicy at one point West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin had to get involved, but it's being denied by those close to her.

It's like observing the Titanic.

* BUSY trying to obliterate middle schools across Worcestershire, the Conservative leadership at County Hall is causing a real winter stir, a bit like a stew that smells off.

Leader Councillor Adrian Hardman is a self-confessed backer of the move, but The Source does wonder how things are at his Bredon pad.

His wife happens to be a middle school governor.

* OUT busy on the campaign trail, Worcester's Conservatives are making serious headway already in their 2015 electioneering.

The Tories, of course, are pressing ahead with their plans to splash £10.4 million on a new swimming pool by extending Perdiswell Leisure Centre - and now they're making the policy pay off in more ways than one.

Who joined the Conservatives for the election door-knocking last week? Chris Rimell, from Worcester Swimming Club.
