ROBIN Walker may have thought he'd seen the last of Worcester's former Labour MP Mike Foster during that bitter battle of 2010, but no.

Utterly randomly the two bumped into each other at Westminster's Portcullis House on Tuesday, where all the MP's offices are based, and had a quick chinwag.

With the pressure for this year's General Election sure to be driving all our candidates nuts already, Robin would have been forgiven for believing it to be a bad premonition.

If the next stage is nightmares of Foster with a large scythe in one hand and careers advice book in the other, it really is time to sweat.

* TALKING about Robin, he is now being followed on Twitter by the Archbishop of Canterbury no less.

The 'arch has 71,000 followers but follows only 108 people himself, putting our man among an elite group.

Mind those Ps and Qs eh!

* NOT content with advertising at Kidderminster Harriers' Aggborough stadium, UKIP temporarily draped a party banner over the front of a funeral company in Malvern last week.

Is that because a read of the manifesto takes one closer to the grave?

*What is the difference between the Treasury and a catering service?

One books the cooks.....

* SOME might think working through the minutiae of a council budget is enough to bore anyone senseless, but tough-as-nails Tory Chris Mitchell more than makes up for it away from politics.

As Worcester City Council's cabinet member for finance he's currently trying to push the 2015/16 spending plans through, but The Source expects it'll be a walk in the park compared to daily life.

Cllr Mitchell happens to be a former army major and during nearly 20 years service not only took on a commander role during the Gulf War, but was also an instructor at elite Royal military academy Sandhurst.

He now works for a company involved in the development of missiles and weapons, which may or may not come in useful during the council's crucial budget setting meeting a week on Tuesday.

His job takes him around the world and only last weekend, our man happened to spend time with Prince Charles in Jordan, who is on a six-day tour of the Middle East.

Incidentally the heir to the throne's tour included a meeting with the new conservative King of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, continuing his special relationship with the mega-rich Saudi royal family, a visit which has stirred up controversy galore.

Would they like to pay for Worcester's new swimming pool?
