DAVID Barlow, who led Worcester City Council for Labour 15 years ago before ditching his three decades old membership in a hissy fit, hasn't been able to let his grievances go.

The old leftie has featured in The Guardian newspaper's 'Good to meet you' section, where he claims to have barely missed an edition since 1971 and grumpily scorns today's Worcester Labour Party, taking a swipe at what he calls a "self-seeking chatterati".

* WITH serious pressure on our elected representatives to ease Worcester's congestion, you'd think they'd pull out all the stops to try and find new solutions - but no.

A panel of councillors at Worcester City Council, deeply mired in an ongoing review about how to ease the all-too regular jams, asked for a meeting with their counterparts at County Hall to merely discuss it, only to be refused.

It's spelt S-N-U-B-B-E-D.

* DUE to health reasons the Labour group's finance spokesman at the city council, Richard Boorn, is calling it a day next spring after four years in which he's entertained us all - not least by regularly lampooning highways officers.

One man who may be even more relieved than County Hall's roads officials, however, is sure to be that bearded, sandal-wearing chap odds-on to be the next Labour leader.

During the summer Richard famously said he'd quit as a councillor in protest if Jeremy Corbyn won the contest.

* TALKING about Corbyn, you'd think UK Independence Party chiefs would have nothing, de nada, diddly squat to muse with him on, but no.

UKIP's James Goad, who stood for parliament in Worcester at this year's General Election, has been tweeting about women-only train carriages.

Did you vote for him too?

* FORMER Labour man turned Green Peter Nielsen sent a letter to this newspaper last month battering ex-city MP Mike Foster over his 'Anyone But Corbyn' stance, insisting he "barely hides his preference for Liz Kendall".

For those keeping tabs, Foster actually ended up backing Yvette Cooper - finally going public last week on something many of us knew all along.
