THE concept of 'English votes for English laws' hasn't gone down well with disgruntled Scottish MPs, who have resorted to calling it by the acronym EVEL, pronounced 'EVIL', to get a rise out of rival politicians in the Commons.

But Worcester MP Robin Walker has been busy pushing a new, much more likeable label for the West Lothian Question - LOVE - which means 'Laws only for voters in England'.

Isn't that LOVE-ly?

* NEW Tory MP Heidi Allen has become an unlikely poster-girl for the anti-George Osborne battle float, using her belated Maiden speech in the Commons to slate his tax credits misadventure.

Her criticism was so stark, the word doing the rounds is that many Conservative MPs are now too furious to even talk to her - but that isn't the case for all of them.

Mid-Worcestershire MP Nigel Huddleston happens to be very good friends with Heidi, as before they reached the Commons the duo slummed it as Conservative councillors in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

So what did he make of his pal's intervention?

"She is one of those people who speaks from the heart," he tells us.

Glad that's cleared up then.

* CHINESE President Xi Jinping visited parliament during his trip to London last week, giving our MPs a one and only chance to rub shoulders with the second most powerful man on the planet.

One Labour MP, who shall go unnamed, inexplicably lost their cool and decided to grab an iPhone selfie with the bewildered Chinese premier - a tactic none of our lot dared copy.

"It wasn't something I decided to go in for", Robin Walker tells us, diplomatically.

* COMMONS leader Chris Grayling took a swipe at Labour and the Lib Dems this week, saying they were trying to "wreck" the Government's manifesto plans in the Lords.

Never mind that trying to find any detail of the tax credit cuts in the Tory manifesto was like searching for a wasp in a mansion, Worcestershire Lib Dem Fran Oborski has her own take on Grayling's stance.

She's called him "a weasel", an "inhumane idiot" and "unmentionable" on Twitter already this week.

Better take some more water with it.
