YOU'VE all read about Jeremy the missing teddy bear, but did you hear about the headless poodle?

Green Cllr Matt Jenkins made the farcical decision to pose for this snap with his son's cuddly, moments before those wonderful volunteers at Worcester's Repair Cafe stitched it back together to save the day.

The organisation's Twitter feed carried the glorious caption: "A headless poodle came in today."

Now that's a bit harsh!

* WORCESTER Labour Party's interim chair Elaine Donnelly has found the perfect answer to her strife - taking her ball and going home.

The under-fire organiser, famous for describing her own party as "dying", has deleted her Twitter account.

The Source wonders whether this was a self-inspired act to try and erase her act of Harakiri from public consciousness, or whether the regional office 'had a word'.

* CONGRATULATIONS must go to Cllr Jabba Riaz, who has just become a father for the third time after the arrival of a beautiful baby daughter.

As he grapples with his new-found reality of nappies and cuddles, let's hope he can keep those tired eyelids open for long enough to enjoy The Source.

* LAST week Worcester Conservative Association rushed out a press release boasting about a "phenomenal increase" in membership, proudly declaring its growth to be a frankly unbelievable 90 per cent since 2012.

But oddly enough the release decided to make no mention of what the current or past figure is, ensuring it went straight into the recycling bin alongside the assortment of PR guff about fluffy cats, payday lenders and loony get-rich-quick schemes.

Contrast this with the approach by Labour, which can barely shut up about its membership figures nationwide, including the 1,000-plus in Worcester.

Anyone would think the guys and gals in blue are handling official state secrets.

* A HEFTY Government push is on the way to drive up standards in how homes are heated, throwing up one of those classic political ironies.

A new set of proposals to cut heating bills and improve boilers are being enthusiastically backed by city Tory MP Robin Walker - but the policy itself is largely the work of the Energy & Utilities Alliance, whose chief executive happens to be his old Labour rival, Mike Foster.

And exactly how old 'Foxy' got ministers to accept many of the ideas in the current dossier takes even more imagination.

The politician he's been dealing with, Nicholas Bourne, who these days takes the grand title of Lord Bourne of Aberystwyth, was Worcester's Tory candidate at the 1997 General Election, where Foster blew him out the water.

Old pals indeed!
