THE tax team at law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys has been given a boost by the arrival of a new expert, just in time to take on board Chancellor George Osborne’s tax changes.

Charlotte Herbert, who joins from a leading accountancy practice in Birmingham, is the new assistant head of tax based in Worcester, working with partner Ann Bibby who leads the team.

Miss Herbert is a chartered accountant and is training as a chartered tax adviser; she provides wide ranging advice on issues including corporate restructuring, employee share schemes, available reliefs, and investment advice in relation to SEED/EIS qualifying companies.

She said: “Understanding businesses thoroughly is the best way to give the right tax advice, and this year’s Budget has given firms plenty to think about, as always. I’m looking forward to working with businesses across the Three Counties and in Birmingham to put them in the best tax position possible to take advantage of all the growth opportunities out there.”

Mrs Bibby added: “I am delighted to welcome Charlotte to the firm. Her experience and her readiness to explore what companies really need to support their business will be invaluable, especially given the changes to capital gains tax, stamp duty land tax and the reduction in corporation tax rates which were announced recently.”
